CORNHOLE RULES
Corn Hole Rules and Regulations
- A team has 5 minutes to report to the course when called. Failure to report in that time will forfeit the match.
- A coin toss will take place prior to the start of the contest. The winner of the coin toss has the opportunity to either throw first OR to choose what side their team will throw from.
- First team to 21 points wins.
- Scoring:
- Each bag on the box = 1 point
- Each bag in the hole = 3 points
- Any bags touching the ground or “bounced” onto the box do not count and are to be removed prior to the next bag being thrown by the opposing team.
- 0 points for a cornhole bag that is hanging o the front edge and is resting on a cornhole bag that is on the ground (unless the cornhole bag on the ground can be removed without making the hanging bag fall to the ground, then 1 point is given.
- Cancellation scoring will be used. Example:
- Team 1 throws 1 bag in the hole and 3 bags land on the box for a total of 6 points.
- Team 2 throws 1 bag in the hole and 2 bags land on the box for a total of 5 points.
- Then Team 1 receives 1 point for that round.
- The first side of players alternates pitching corn bags until they have thrown all 4 bags, then the remaining players (pitching from the other cornhole platform) continue to alternate in the same manner.
- The pitcher must remain BEHIND the front of the board during the entire address and release of the corn bag.
- Any corn bag that leaves a contestant’s hand once the final forward swing of the delivery process has started shall count as a pitched corn bag. A corn bag that is accidentally dropped by a contestant before the final forward swing has started shall not be considered foul and may be picked up and pitched.
- Fouls:
- A cornhole player’s foot goes past the foot foul line, termed a foot foul.
- A player goes out of turn.
- The player who caused the foul loses the throw when the foul occurred, and the bags shall be removed if it landed on the playing surface.
- Any corn bag that contacted the ground before coming to rest on the board or is touching the ground in any way shall be called a foul and removed from the board.
- Winning team will be responsible for notifying the coordinator of the score at the conclusion of each match.
